Blue Run Congressional Barrel Pick | Black Bourbon Run

Whiskey Barrel Selection

Paul, one of the founders of Black Bourbon Run, initiated the idea of a Blue Run Barrel Selection with Trey Wade during BBR4. Instead of your typical handful of select people, everyone was included. Yes, almost fifty whiskey aficionados convened for a remarkable barrel selection event lead by none other than Trey Wade of Blue Run Spirits in Louisville, KY during Black Bourbon Run 4.

The setting was nothing short of extraordinary at Paseo, Louisville’s premier restaurant in the heart of the Highlands. Trey Wade, renowned for his discerning palate and expertise in the industry, led the group through a sensory journey like no other.

Each participant had the unique opportunity to sample and evaluate four whiskey samples, each embodying distinct flavors and profiles. The room buzzed with excitement as discussions of tasting notes and aromas as each sample was voted on by the collective group. Trey Wade's insights and guidance added an unparalleled level of depth to the unique experience, making it an unforgettable day for all in attendance.

In the end, after meticulous deliberation, a banter of friendly disagreements, and thoughtful consideration over the last two samples, B and D, a winner was crowned by exactly one vote. This was a testament to the camaraderie and appreciation shared among everyone in attendance.

Remember, whiskey is to be enjoyed responsibly and in moderation. Take your time, sip slowly, and revel in the moment as you unlock the secrets hidden within each pour.
