Silent Bourbon Hunting in Casper, WY

Checking out the local bourbon scene in Casper, WY

During our recent visit to Casper, Wyoming, we were there primarily to support a friend who had just purchased a hockey team. It happened to coincide with their first home game, but we couldn't resist the opportunity to explore the local bourbon scene while we were in town. Over the course of our short trip, we visited three local liquor stores, each with its own unique offerings and atmosphere.

Our first stop was a local shop that had a no video recording policy. While we weren't able to capture the experience on film, we still browsed through an impressive selection of bourbons. Among their inventory, we found Elijah Craig Store Picks, your traditional offerings you would typically find, and, of course, the highly sought-after Blanton's. It was a nice surprise to see a dedicated selection, including a nod to local pride with Wyoming Whiskey.

Next, we ventured over to Wyoming Discount Liquor. This store had a welcoming vibe, and we were greeted by friendly associates who were eager to assist. Their selection included a variety of bourbons, and we noticed a few bottles that were hard to come by in our area back home. The staff made the visit enjoyable and informative.

Our final stop was Liquor Shed, minutes from our last stop. Similar to our previous experiences, we were met with kindness from the associates. They provided personalized recommendations, and even shared their favorite place to sit when supporting the local hockey team, the Casper Warbirds, since I discussed the reason for visiting Casper with them. This store also had an impressive range of bourbons, making it a worthwhile destination for any enthusiast, and a variety of non-alcoholic selections available to make it easier to enjoy social moments while remaining alcohol-free.

Since we were traveling with our carry-on luggage only, we did not purchase any full-sized bottles. However, I made the most of our situation by picking up a selection of mini bottles from Wyoming Discount Liquor. These small-sized spirits enabled me to support the store since I was filming their aisles. Additionally, I purchased a non-alcoholic option at Liquor Shed, which was great for me since I do not drink. This combination gave us a chance to bring a bit of our journey home with us while adhering to travel restrictions.

Overall, our bourbon hunting experience in Casper proved to be delightfully rewarding. The unique offerings found within these local liquor stores, combined with the warm hospitality from the associates, made the visit memorable. If you're ever in Casper, whether for a hockey game or just exploring, be sure to check out these local shops for some nice bourbon finds and non-alcoholic options as well.
